Impossible Cloud

European object storage for backup, archives, and application data.

Backup

Impossible Cloud is an S3-compatible object storage service for backup data, archives, and application data. The service is developed by a European company and all storage takes place within Europe.

It is a storage layer rather than a finished solution. You choose which backup software writes to it – for example MSP360 or NAKIVO – and Impossible Cloud makes sure the data is stored securely and can be reached when you need it.

European storage – and why it has started to matter

The question of where data physically resides has gone from a technical detail to a procurement requirement. GDPR, public tenders, and NIS2 have all contributed, and for many organisations it is no longer enough that an American provider has servers in Europe.

Impossible Cloud is a European company with European storage, which makes that question easy to answer – to an auditor and a procurement officer alike.

Why organisations choose Impossible Cloud

Your data stays in Europe. Both the storage and the provider are European.

S3-compatible. Works with existing backup and storage solutions without special adaptation.

Predictable cost. The pricing model is easier to calculate than with several of the large hyperscalers, where egress fees for retrieving data can come as a surprise.

Geo-redundancy. Data is stored redundantly for high availability.

Encryption. Both at rest and in transit.

Features in Impossible Cloud

S3-compatible object storage. Works with standard tools and existing integrations.

Storage for backup and archiving. Built for data that needs to be kept for a long time and retrieved rarely.

Geo-redundant storage. High availability even during disruption.

Encryption at rest and in transit.

European data storage. With GDPR as the starting point.

API and integration support. For backup and storage solutions.

What Impossible Cloud does that the others don't

Unlike the other products in this part of our portfolio, Impossible Cloud is not an alternative to NAKIVO or MSP360 – it sits underneath them.

NAKIVO and MSP360 determine how the backup is taken and restored. Impossible Cloud determines where it ends up. You need both, and they can be chosen independently of each other.

The combination of MSP360 and Impossible Cloud is common among Nordic customers, because it gives you both free choice of storage and a storage target within Europe.

Multisourcing – our strategy as a distributor

We have deliberately chosen to carry multiple vendors in each area instead of representing just one. That is the foundation of how we build our portfolio.

Storage is an area where that principle is particularly valuable. Separating storage from backup software means that replacing one does not force you to replace the other – and that you can move your data if pricing or requirements change.

For you it also means that you can switch products without switching partners, with the same contracting party, the same support, and the same point of contact.

We are a distributor, not a reseller

MSP Nordics distributes Impossible Cloud in the Nordic region. We assist you with setup, connecting it to your backup solution, and calculating what the storage will cost over time – including what it costs to retrieve data, which is the item most often forgotten.

Support in Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, and English.

Frequently asked questions about Impossible Cloud

How much does Impossible Cloud cost?
Pricing is based on stored volume. Get in touch and we will calculate it for your situation, including what retrieval costs.

Does it work with our existing backup solution?
If the solution supports S3-compatible storage, yes. That includes MSP360 and NAKIVO, among many other tools.

Where is the data stored?
Within Europe, with a European company. That is the entire reason the service exists.

Is it an alternative to AWS or Azure?
For object storage, yes. For other cloud services it is not the same thing – Impossible Cloud does one thing.

Is it suitable for the public sector?
Often yes, since European data storage and GDPR compliance are recurring requirements in public tenders. We are happy to help with the documentation.

Can we move the data later?
Yes. Because the storage is S3-compatible, you are not locked in to the provider.
