The challenge
Information security requirements from Abacus' customers grew faster than working methods could keep up. Managed passwords, sensitive customer data and access to critical systems needed protecting in a more structured and considered way – and that protection also had to be demonstrable to a customer who asks.
In parallel, manual steps in the delivery processes had become a clear barrier to growth. Technicians spent time on routine tasks that could have been handled automatically with the right structure, which limited capacity for more advanced work. Documentation of customer environments was inconsistent and person-dependent, creating vulnerability and making onboarding of new staff harder.
The solution
MSP Nordics carried out a broad analysis of Abacus' operations and designed a comprehensive strategy in which security, automation and documentation reinforce one another rather than being handled separately.
Security was built up in layers. Endpoint protection was strengthened with behaviour-based detection and automated response, identities and credentials were consolidated into a controlled structure with clear traceability, and the risk picture around users and cloud accounts was made visible and possible to track over time.
Automation focused on identifying and removing time-consuming manual steps in the workflows, freeing up technician time for the work that genuinely requires their expertise. Alongside this, a documentation structure was built that keeps information about customer environments current and accessible.
